On October 19, 2019, Lv Haiqi, director of the institute of statistical science of the national bureau of statistics and editor-in-chief of statistical research, came to our institute for investigation and guidance of scientific research, accompanied by Dr. Tao ran from the institute of statistical science of the national bureau of statistics. Zhang Huanming, dean of the college, Li Xiaoheng, vice-president of the college, key teachers of the college and some graduate students participated in the research symposium. The symposium was chaired by Zhang Huanming.

Lv Haiqi first briefly introduced the basic situation and main functions of the statistical science research institute of the national bureau of statistics, the key points of statistical science research establihed this year and the changing trend of key topics of statistical research in the future. Then he introduces in detail the process of selecting topics, reviewing manuscripts and using manuscripts, and points out some details that the author should pay attention to when selecting topics, writing and submitting manuscripts.In the end, he also put forward constructive thinking on scientific research projects, journal construction, industry-university-research combination and other aspects, encouraged teachers and students to actively participate in relevant research, and patiently answered some questions raised by teachers and students.

Zhang Huanming, on behalf of the college, warmly welcomed Lv Haiqi's visit and expressed his sincere thanks to Lv Haiqi for her warm guidance. In the symposium, participants also combined their own work experience and research experience, from different perspectives around the research and education of government statistics, the construction of statistical academic journals and other topics to launch a heated discussion. After the meeting, zhang Huanming accompanied Lv Haiqi to the city bureau of statistics work research.
