On the afternoon of June 19, 2019, Associate Professor Ma Huimin, Department of Economic Statistics, made an academic report entitled Summary of the Visiting and Studying in the North Illinois University (NIU) about the experience of his overseas academic visiting.

Prof. Ma's report is divided into three parts: education and teaching, academic exchange and scientific research.

In the part of education and teaching, Prof. Ma introduced the students abroad through the 2+2 international cooperation project between our school and NIU. She said the international cooperation project between our school and NIU 2+2 is very successful, and the students achieved excellent results in there. At the same time, she realized the differences between Chinese and American education gradually. She told the students who were going abroad how to prepare for some basic work and curriculum at AUFE. She introduced NIU's teaching management and the frontier curriculum.

Academic exchange is one of the main purposes of Prof. Ma's visiting. In addition to work exchanges with NIU's supervisor, she also had the privilege of listening to several colloquiums in the field of statistics. Especially the application of Bayesian statistics and non-parametric statistics in the field of health care is very impressive. A lot of statistical researchers in U.S. are engaged in this research work. The academic research level is very higher. The application of statistics should be vigorously developed in China.

At last, Prof Ma introduced her working paper during her visit in NIU. She has completed two working papers and is in the submission stage. Another paper is in progress. Two papers have been completed on data analysis and application of emerging financial markets and exploration of theoretical models of econometrics.
