Course name: Space Analytic Geometry

Course number: SMG1131302     Credit: 3

Course Description:

Space Analytic Geometry is the first semester course. This course is a professional basic course for mathematics majors. Analytic geometry is also to provide the knowledge required for the subsequent courses, such as mathematical analysis, advanced algebra.

Through the learning of space analytic geometry, enable the students to master the basic knowledge of the system and the basic theory of analytic geometry, good at using the coordinate and vector as tools. Through the learning space analytic geometry can also culture the students' ability of solving problems by changing the geometric problems into algebraic equations.

Course Learning Objectives

The objective of the course is the knowledge and the ability to gain through the learning of the course. As follows:

1. To understand the basic concepts of analytic geometry;

2. Skilled grasps the properties and the standard equations for some geometric figures,

3. Describing the figures of some common space curves and surfaces

Pre-course: Plane analytic geometry
