Course Description
Insurance actuarial is a course in the Seventh semester,which is a compulsory course of majors of Mathematics,Statistics, Finances and Insurance. This course mainly introduces the basic principles of insurance actuarial, including actuarial overview and theoretical framework, interest theory, annuity type, life function and life table, Calculation of actuarial present value of life insurance,Actuarial present value of life annuity, insurance premium rate, liability reserve, cash value and dividends, life insurance liabilities and risk theory.
By studying Insurance actuarial, students can master the basic theory, basic skills and basic methods of Actuarial Science, so as to have the basic ability to analyze and solve the related problems with the use of actuarial knowledge, and lay the foundation for further study and theoretical research and practical work.
Course Learning Outcomes
The student learning outcomes are what student would be able to know and to do on the completion of this course. In details are:
1. Understand the concept of interest, pension calculation, basic knowledge of life table, single pure premium calculation, life annuities, insurance premium and operating expenses, calculate reserves, cash value and dividends.
2. Able to use the knowledge to explain the actual types of insurance, and have primary abilities of designing new insurance.
