On the morning of July 10, at the invitation of the Research Office, the Graduate Department, the Institute of Statistics and Applied Mathematics, and the Institute of Economics, Professor of  Tsinghua University Institute of Economics and Management, Director of China Economic and Social Data Research Center of Tsinghua University, National Professor Xu Xianchun, former deputy director of the Bureau of Statistics and doctoral tutor, gave an academic lecture entitled Interpretation of China's Gross Domestic Product and Comprehensive and Objective Understanding of Sino-US Trade Imbalances in the Graduate Academic Report Hall. Vice President Zhou Jialai presided over the report. Gao Weizhou, deputy director of the Anhui Provincial Bureau of Statistics, Lin Guoli, director of the Bureau of Statistics of Bengbu City, Shi Yue, head of the investigation team of the National Bureau of Statistics, and all the teachers of the Institute of Statistics and Applied Mathematics, as well as some graduate students and undergraduates at the university.

Professor Xu Xianchun made a comprehensive interpretation of the gross domestic product indicators from the main purposes of GDP, basic concepts, basic accounting methods, main methods of production accounting, main methods of accounting and analytical applications, and the academic community. And some media reports on the misuse of the concept of resident units, final results and the questioning of GDP data are analyzed and answered. He used specific examples to explain and explain how GDP indicators are produced, showing the systematic and scientific statistics of China's GDP. He also interprets the trade imbalance between China and the United States from four perspectives: trade statistics, contributors to Sino-US trade imbalances, cross-border profit transfer, and trade value added statistics.
